Cornwall College Saltash is opening its doors for a Taster Day for prospective students as well as those who have already applied for September courses. The College is encouraging those interested in courses to come along and see how the College runs on a day to day basis and to join in with classes so that they can get a real feel for what is on offer.

The Taster Day is on Friday 23rd May from 9 am until 1.30 pm. There will be a range of activities on offer in each department, including "Have you got what it takes to be an Apprentice", beauty treatments and practical workshops. There will also be presentations plus guided tours of the premises. A barbeque lunch will be provided as well as other entertainment. Prospective students will get to meet current students and experience first hand what it feels like to be at college. Staff will be available to answer questions and help to enrich the student experience.

Pat Lloyd, Senior Tutor at Cornwall College Saltash, said: "We always get a really positive response from our Taster Days. We find that the turnout is good and those who have visited our past Taster Days have found that it has helped them to make up their minds as to where their futures lay. There have been lots of changes here at the college and it makes for an exciting future both for the students and the staff."

For those unable to attend the Taster Day or for those who would like further information on courses available at Saltash there are weekly drop in sessions every Wednesday at the college, from 3-5 pm which anyone is free to attend.

"We encourage these Taster Sessions at all of our campuses," said John Latham, Principal of Cornwall College. "We realise that making a career choice is a daunting experience and therefore we try to make this as easy as possible, by giving future students as much information and guidance as we can."
