HEDGEHOGS AT HALF TERM HEATH EVENT

22nd May 2008

Devon Wildlife Trust's (DWT) Exmouth Local Group will next week be hosting a wildlife art event at the charity's Bystock nature reserve as part of the Exmouth Festival.

The event on Tuesday 27 May will run from 10am until 3pm and will be a fun-packed day of painting flowers, leaf rubbing and hedgehog making. Whilst the kids have fun and get creative, parents will have chance to explore the rest of the heathland nature reserve to take in its wide array of flowers and birds that inhabit the site.

Exmouth Local Group organiser David Brock said: "This is a great time of year to see Bystock in all its glory. The pools looking really inviting in the summer sun and all the flowers are starting to come into bloom in the meadow. We hope that the event will be an excellent way for parents to entertain their children during half term, allowing them to both have fun outside and learn more about the wildlife on their doorstep."

The event is aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 13. People are encouraged to wear stout footwear and to bring waterproofs in case of rain.

For more information about the event contact David Brock on 01395 260119.
