Teignbridge Council's popular 'Dance This Way' programme waltzes in to two more local communities this month, bringing dance classes right to the doorstep of residents in Ideford and Dunchideock.
Launched in February this year, Dance This Way enables residents to take part in local dance taster sessions led by experienced teachers. Having proved a hit in Teigngrace, Highweek and Ipplepen, Dance This Way starts a new four-week programme at village halls on Monday 7 July.
Weekly sessions at Ideford Village Hall will take place on Mondays between 8.15pm-9.15pm, and at Dunchideock Village Hall between 6.30pm-7.30pm.
Costing just £2 per session and with no need to book, Dance This Way will feature some wide ranging taster lessons suitable for new and experienced dancers alike. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.
The sessions are flexible, with instructors Katherine Nietrzebka and Rachel Sweeney happy to accommodate dancers' preferences. Some of the options include:
Cultural Dance
Travel the world from the local Village Hall with tasters in dance from many different cultures. Ranging from Salsa, Greek to Tango and Belly Dance!
Strictly Ballroom Basics
Spice up your life with some professional dance moves straight from this season's most popular dances. Choose your Ballroom style from Saucy Salsa to Jumping Jitterbug. Bring along a partner, or go solo in style!!
Creative Moves
Try a new fun way to get fit through gentle moves and music. A chance to dance your way to good health and meet new friends.
Urban Fusion
Come and learn street dance and contemporary moves with music.
Cllr Anne Fry, Teignbridge Executive Spokesperson for Recreational Services said:
"Dance This Way is a fantastic opportunity for members of smaller communities to enjoy the fun of dance classes without having to travel in to town centres to benefit from them.
"Whether it's starting to salsa or taming the tango, local people will be able to dance away a Friday night in an enjoyable, safe and local environment.
"Whether you're a keen dancer or a complete beginner, everybody is welcome to come and give it a whirl!"
