11th July 2008

If you're an Early Bird on Sunday 7th September you can catch an invigorating walk around the beautiful outdoor surroundings of the Eden Project and support Children's Hospice South West's Precious Lives Appeal at the same time!

The Early Bird Walk is a chance for the whole family to have a great day out together whilst also helping life-limited children. You can choose to start your walk at 7:30am, 8:00am or 8:30am and whether you walk one mile or three, and enjoy a delicious breakfast bap and FREE entry into the Eden Project on completion of the walk as well!

Emma Lloyd, Children's Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal Manger says:

"We are thrilled that the Eden Project is hosting our Early Bird Walk; what better way to start the day than by taking a walk in such a picturesque venue?! It's worth getting up with the lark to enjoy such a wonderful walk, a great day out at the Eden Project, and helping the Precious Lives Appeal at the same time!"

The Precious Lives Appeal was launched in September last year to raise money to build a children's hospice in Cornwall and an ideal site has already been found near to St Austell. With hospices in North Devon and Somerset, Children's Hospice South West supports children and families across the South West; a third hospice in Cornwall will provide emergency and planned respite care for many more children in Cornwall, Plymouth and across the region.

By joining us at Eden and taking part in the Early Bird Walk you will be helping to raise the vital funds we require to build this much needed hospice.

David Rowe, Head of Media Relations at Eden says:

"We're delighted to be supporting the Children's Hospice South West Precious Lives appeal by hosting this event and wish them the best of luck in building a new hospice near St. Austell. Eden is the ideal venue for an invigorating morning stroll and it's even better that people will be able to step out for such a good cause."

To receive your free information pack, including a sponsorship form e-mail earlybird@chsw.org.uk or call us on 01271 325270. To sign up you will be asked for a £5 registration fee, which includes a bacon or egg bap, tea or coffee and free admission into the Eden Project on completion of the walk.

BBC Radio Cornwall's Naomi Kennedy will also be broadcasting her Sunday Breakfast Show from Eden to keep you going on your way round.

Be an Early Bird - set your alarm clock and enjoy a fun family day out at the Eden Project raising funds for the Precious Lives Appeal!
