With so much to do in Teignbridge over the summer holidays, it's no surprise that Teignbridge Council's new holiday activity guide, released this week, is its biggest ever!
The new 36-page booklet is available now at Teignbridge leisure centres, Teignbridge Council's Forde House offices, local primary schools, and online at www.teignbridge.gov.uk/summerholidays. To help launch the guide Cllr Anne Fry and members of Teignbridge's leisure centre staff visited local primary schools last week, demonstrating some of the activities on offer.
This year the holiday guide is bigger than ever, filled with everything young people aged 3-16 need to make the most of summer: dates, times, prices, and details on all the activities and trips available. The brochure also includes details on outdoor facilities in Teignbridge, pool programmes, and summer promotions at local leisure centres.
There's action packed fun right across Teignbridge this summer, with Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, Dawlish Leisure Centre, Ashmoor Recreation Centre, and Broadmeadow Sports Centre all hosting activities and events as part of the summer programme.
The line up of fun is hard to beat, and promises to make the summer unforgettable for young people around Teignbridge. Ranging from a day trip to Woodlands Adventure Park to an Olympics Sports Day, from Drama Workshops to Body Boarding, there's something for everybody to enjoy.
Teignbridge's hugely popular Sports Development Camps are also returning for the summer, and this year include two new activities - Street Dance and Squash. Other camps on offer include Trampolining, Tennis, Basketball, and Netball. Sports Development Camps offer young people aged 7 - 16 years the opportunity to improve their sporting skills under the guidance of friendly, professional instructors. Places on these camps are limited, and booking is essential. For more details and to book, customers can call 01626 215603 or 01626 215861.
Councillor Anne Fry, Teignbridge Executive Spokesperson for Recreational Services said:
"We always try to provide great recreational activities and there is no exception this summer! With even more activities than last year the young people of Teignbridge have the opportunity to learn new skills and get involved with lots of fun activities.
"Whatever the weather, we have fun for all ages at a price that won't break the bank. This is certainly one school holiday where there no excuse for boredom!"
