Follow the events of an evening in a northern pub through the eyes of the beleaguered landlord and lady. Fourteen diverse characters (all played by just two actors) tell their story.
Some of them are endearing, some quite eccentric, some you need to be wary of, others just intriguing - but all completely recognisable as people you know, have met or even seen in your local!
Bolton author Jim Cartwright's character study of a northern pub won the Manchester Evening News Best New Play Award when it was first performed almost 20 years ago and its wry but touching view of life has a universal quality, which has ensured its popularity ever since.
